An opportunity to meet RE member Paul Catherall RE and to discuss his work and printmaking in general from 1.30 - 4pm at Bankside Gallery. No need to book ahead - just turn up.
As part of the event, Paul will be showing his working drawings and rough colour paintings, and some pieces of lino so you can see the process of creating a linocut print. There will also be some of his prints revealing the different colour stages before they built up to create the final proof.
Paul is currently displaying National Grey at Bankside Gallery as one of the Print Collectors Club prints this year. He will be able to show you some rough and alternative versions of the print illustrating his thought processes leading up to the version you can buy at Bankside Gallery. Meanwhile, Paul will also be working on his current piece in situ at the gallery. It will prove to be a fascinating afternoon.
