Louise Davies takes the inspiration for her work from the landscape and nature. She has a strong use of colour and a unique language with her mark making. Her work is an intuitive response to her passion for the landscape. 

She works from drawings made in her sketch book in situ and then returns to her studio to use these as a starting point for the creation of her dreamlike images. She works with etching and aquatint. Midnight Nocturne is made with four different etching plates, where coloured plates are layered on top of each other. Numerous proofs were made of this print until finally the balance of the finished image was created.

Louise studied Fine Art at St Martins and then a Masters at Camberwell. She has won prizes for her work and exhibits regularly in galleries throughout the United Kingdom. Her work also features in collections at St Georges Hospital, Citigroup Canary Wharf and the Ashmolean Museum.
