Neil Bousfield studied MA Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking at the University of the West of England, Bristol, awarded with distinction in 2007. Although contexts change, drawing and narrative remain steadfast within Neil’s personal practice of printmaking and the technique of wood engraving. Recent practice and research considers and responds to landscape, the notion of home and place, and the impact of narrative upon the construct of place. The exploration of the concepts of transformation, change and fragility and the geographical palimpsest of place allows a rooting of emotional connections to the landscape and this drives Bousfield’s printmaking practice.
